Had to much fun ? Check out this rescue treatment !

THE ULTIMATE POST-PARTY INTENSIVE RESCUE TREATMENT

Remember what I've told you about how important sleeping is ? How you're not supposed to party 2,3,4,5,6,7 days away ? How you have to eat balanced and all that stuff ? Well, I dit it all wrong during the last few days. And you know what ? It's okay, no one is perfect, we have a right to screw up sometimes and have some careless fun. The end of my exam and graduation were the perfect opportunity I have to say...

Basically, what happened is that I went a few days on a girls trip in Cannes, I tanned all day, went out, didn't look back on my diet, enjoyed life as much as I could. And when I got home ? It was time for graduation. Niiiiicee. No need to say that sun+not-so-healthy-food+alcohol+not-enough-sleep wasn't a good cocktail for my skin.

Thanks God, I'm a skincare freak and had all that I needed to make it up to my skin. Here's all the little extras that I've added to my skincare routine.

1. CLEANSE YOUR SKIN

Okay so, first step ? Cleansing. As always. I used my beloved Evelom Rescue Mask to give a good cleanse to my pores.

2. ABOUT REHYDRATION

I tend to have combination to oily skin, more on the oily side and therefore, you may know that even if that type of skin doesn't look like it needs hydration, it actually is more dehydrated than any other skin. I gave it all the love that I could, by using my favourite serums : the Estee Lauder advanced night repair, which I normaly use every other night or so, because I don't want my skin to get used to it, in combination with my REN replenishing night serum which I've been religously applying every single night for a month or so and damn, I LOVE it !

On the top, I didn't applied a moisturiser, but an overnight mask, which of course, was the very well-known Origins Drink up intensive night mask. Yep, told you it was an intensive treatment.

3. LEAVE IT ALONE !

Last step ? I tried to leave my skin alone as much as possible, with no make-up on for a day or two. Seriously, back off, let it breathe, it's the best you can do.

Did it worked ? I honestly couldn't be more happy and relieved, my skin is already almost back to normal. Again, all the products that I've used work on me, and may not work on you ! Those are just a few tips that I thought I could share, in case it might work for some of you as well, or at least give you some inspiration :)

I hope you're all enjoying summer as much as I did lately... ! ;-)

Love love love !

Getting used to the basics

First things first, let's talk about the basics in beauty. I warn you, this post will probably be boring to death if you're a woman (well, even more if you're a man...) as I'll only talk about things you already know, and religously follow every single day. Actually, you'd better be bored, because if you're not...let's just say that there is no lost cause. ;-)

Oh, I know, this is a veeery long one...bare with me !

THE CHERRY ON THE CAKE

Yes, of course, they're plenty of marvellous products on the market. Otherewise, I wouldn't be a beauty blogger and skincare addict. And my credit card wouldn't hate me that much. But like I heard once, when it comes to have and maintain a healthy skin and body, skincare only is the cherry on the cake. Nothing more. There won't be any miracle product to save your skin if you don't know how to take care of yourself on your own, with the basic principles. We are from the outside what we are in the inside. I know, it sounds gross, but think about it for a minute; it totally makes sense. You can't have a healthy body if you're having a junky life. I'm not here to give you some lesson, but I've already met too many people who sincerly had no idea of how much some small changes in their everyday life could make such a big difference. So please, try to eat healthily, eat balanced meals.

Want a healthy and good-looking skin and body ? Staying away from sugar, saturated fat, fast food and alcohol as much as possible would be a good start. That simple. For the rest, keep reading.

WATER, WATER, WATER, ALWAYS MORE WATER

Drink up ! (WATER, of course.) That's one of the main point. Drinking enough water on a daily basis is important for overall good health. But what about the real benefits for your skin ? Does it really make a visible difference ?

In order to understand what is the purpose of drinking water, you have to see your skin as what it is; an organ. Just like any other part of your body, your skin is made up of cells, which are made up of water. What happens when those cells don't contain enough water anymore ? They can't work properly or at their best. They'll get dry, even dehydrated. And your skin will turn dry as well, tight, and prone to wrinkling, redness, all that bad stuff that we want to avoid.

Problem is, a huge amount of water is lost every day for many reason that I won't go through in details (yep, my biological knowledges have limits. Our tolerance to gross-iness as well). You have to replace this amount somehow. That's were are the "drink at least 8 glasses of water a day" from my friends. Thoses glasses will help get rid of toxins, while giving back some hydration to your body.

Many people say that by increasing their water intake, they noticed a that their skin has a more healthy and radiant glow. Same goes for all skin type.

So be smart and keep drinking. Keep in mind that nothing will happen overnight, but eventually you'll thank yourself, so will you skin.

IT'S ALL ABOUT CLEANLINESS

Okay, this one is a tough one. I know I'll sound old-fashion by telling you how important it is to remove your make-up, but there's a reason why everyone is repeating it all the time! As you might know, night is the time when your skin heals and regenerates. Now, picture yourself what it might looks like with an ugly layer of foundation on the top. And powder. And blush. And bronzer. Just not to be gross any longer, let's not talk about the eyes issue. Seriously, don't do it. I know how unconvenient it might be, trust me I do. But if you aren't happy with your skin, that you complain about blemishes, blackheads or whatever, while you don't follow this very simple rule...then you're the only one to blame. Please, do as you're told. Oh, and for the records, some micellaire water ISN'T enough. I use my Bioderma everyday myself, but only as a pre-wash! Don't forget your cleanser, for God's sake ! And I don't care whether it's 6 a.m, you're tired to death or you're in good company, but there won't be any concessions here (right, I may have skipped that rule once. Or twice. Shhhhht.) You HAVE to remove you make-up, every single evening. All of it.

Also remember to cleanse your skin every morning, even if it doesn't have to be as intense as before bed time, you have to get rid of the overnight sweat/shed which blocks you pores. Convinced ? Or do you want me to go ahead ? Alright.

MOVE BABY MOVE !

Again, I'm not making up anything by saying that exercising is vital for having a glowing skin. AND body. By increasing your blood flow, working out helps nourish skin cells. What is also good to know and kind of obvious, is that exercise helps to control your stress level. And by decreasing stress, your hormones won't go that crazy anymore.

In plus, blood flow also helps carry away waste products from working cells. You can then think of exercising as cleansing you skin from the inside and I don't think that there is any further needs to explain how much cleanliness is important, is there ?

THE SLEEPING BEAUTY

One last short advice ? Get some sleep. I know that "one have all the time to sleep through death" but hey, dead people don't give a f**k of how their skin looks like neither do they ? Right. Think about it, and next time you party three days away and you skin is a mess, do not come to me to complain ! ;-)

There we are my loves, hope you didn't fall asleep while reading !

Lots of love
